Podcast: Know Who You ARE: John Wheeler #2

John Wheeler points out the major keys to KNOWING, with Absolute Certainty, what You Truly ARE, and clears any misconceptions about what is being pointed to by the sages once and for good. Listen a few times, and let this potent pointing erase any doubts or confusions about your True Nature.

The plan is to continue this discussion on a series of Podcasts appearing every one or two weeks so stay tuned. The committed intention here is of keeping the pointing out of your Real Nature of Being-Possibility-Aliveness pure, simple and direct.

Please feel free to write in with any questions or comments; Use the "Comments" link directly below. If there are any remaining questions or doubts about your actual always-free nature, then chime in!

Recently, John wrote:

The notion “something seems incomplete”  is simply a thought coming and going in your own doubtless, aware and present nature. Is there anything missing or incomplete about the simple fact of being? The doubt makes a tacit reference to the “I” entity that we have assumed as a valid reference point and as our identity. But that, too, is only an appearance! You have never been that “I” notion at all! In fact, you have never been anything other than what you are. That “you are” is the simple truth of what is being pointed to. Pause there and drink in the immense impact that this doubtless, non-conceptual being/knowing principle is what you ARE, here and now. This is the heart-essence of what the sages and traditions have been saying all along. Reality is the substratum of being and knowing from which the universe appears and into which it subsides. And .... you are THAT. This is what needed to be recognized. Now you know!

THAT says it all.

being complete

The good news is that there is NO actual reality to any belief remaining where You Are that there is any scarcity, lack, or powerlessness.  In simply Being Who We Are, anything is possible, like a pure, naked possibility given life by Source a.k.a. YOU.

In being complete, whole and authentic, which is who and what You ARE, day by day, moment by moment, here and now .... Anything is possible.

What possibilities will YOU engage The Self You ARE  in?

Here? Now?

I am not i

To point out what I am is to point out what YOU are. I am I am. And infinitely less than That. And, infinitely more than That. What IS "That"? Thingless Spacelike Being. Not the "word" being, but ... simply Being. AKA No Thing. But that No Thing is not "void". That is also everything. Reality is No Thing... AND ... Everything. We say "and" because that is the limit of language. Better say NothingEverything. Or even better say nothin' at all, except maybe "I am Love and so, my dear One, are YOU". That is more than enough. YOU are more than enough! I Love Being Love with You!

"what am I missing?"

Q: Okay, I have been asking “who am I” and asking “Who is asking”. I come up with blankness, nothing. At this stage there doesn’t feel like I can do anymore than this; i.e. just rest with this and move on. What am I missing?

C: 1. What is “missing” for “whom”?

Missing for “I”?  Who is that I?” Does it exist in Reality? Is “I” a separate object? Or ONLY an empty idea? Bring it back to that final unanswered question. What is that “I”? Who speaks and listens “I” this and “I” that? No one! There is no person in the organism; the person is only a languaged “mask” (persona) developed out of insecurity and fear. You are No Thing. For whom is That not obvious and completely clear?

That non-answer … that blankness, or no thing, IS the “answer”. Your True Nature is Blank. THAT is pointed to with words: Open empty Light, nondual presence awareness, Beingness, and nonconceptual knowingness. All words do is POINT! Don’t overlook this essential precept … the word is NOT the thing pointed to by the word. What You are is beyond or prior to all words.

2. What could be missing for this Presence, this Awake-Beingness? That natural knowing that “I AM … here, now, present and aware? Is anything missing for No Thing?

No. Nothing is Nothing and what could be “missing” would ONLY appear in a story that has no meaning and no permanence. The Reality that you ARE is that No Thing.

The knowing of natural seeing is that the only "place" "missing" can happen is in story. Time, mind, identity … the “me” story.

Just do not overlook the Presence BEHIND all the appearances, which allows for whatever is happening. That, the Presence behind the story, behind consciousness, even behind or prior to the being-knowing-I AM is all there really is like an IS.

Source is all.

Contemplate:

What is the Source of SOURCE?

What is the Source of Being, Knowing, Seeing?

Where is the Source of SOURCE?
All so called "problems" are only thoughts arising in Space-Awareness; as a fictional tale of a nonexistent character called "the me" or "this person". It's the "tale told by an idiot, signifying nothing", is it not?

Full stop.

Q: Once I pass, the I am “this person with this name” answer ... there is just nothing … a very fixed a forceful nothing back.

C: SO That is who you are. That No Thing! Free and clear, open and aware, whole and complete. Now you know. No going back!

Be That and all problems are gone. Simple, as That IS already always present and aware, here and now. Don’t sell out! Be as you are. I Love You.

the true I is aware presence

Q: How should this start? Let's pretend I am all there is AND I am all love.

C: Hi there, good to hear from you. Okay, lets have a look at this: You cannot pretend to be Love, to be all there is. That IS what you are. The pretend-to-be is a story appearing IN That!

Just know that the words are only pointers; descriptions or representations, while the TRUE I is Presence. Can you deny the fact of Presence? That is HERE. Always on. Always Real.

Yet, there certainly IS pretense happening in your question: The ACTUAL inauthenticity is that you pretend to be a limited thing with complaints about how “your' life is and how “you” are pretending that “you are all there is”. That is a popular cul-de-sac, especially among seekers who have been exposed to some so-called “neo-advaita” pointers or teachers.

So I understand what you are saying; and it appears that you have merely adopted a new “Advaita-BELIEF” … without having dismantled the “believer”, the false sense of “I”.

If you have a new belief that says “I am all there is” and still have these questions, then it's crap, because until that “I” construct, that false self-concept or self-image, is deconstructed, the suffering, seeking and questioning does go on. So, my friend, that belief is just the bullshit of the mind, defending against investigation into what is REAL and what is UNREAL.

Listen to the Podcast with John Wheeler: That is exactly what we discussed. It is a popular attempt to short-cut (and short-circuit) the proper investigation and rooting out of the false self-center we call “I”.

Q: How can a part of me ever think that it is separate from the whole? wouldn't i, in my infinite love-ness, surely not allow this to happen, be, exist, even in a dream? (For, surely, if it did come to be a belief in a dream or in a dream within a dream i, in my infinite wisdom would not allow it only because it would not be my true nature and such separation would surely bring much pain to the dream (i guess ergo the dreamer as well.)

C: First off, you do not actually HAVE any “parts”. Apart from thought! That thought of an “I” that you still believe in, and assume to be really really really “myself”, a self allows or does or any of the rest of the story you tell is the true culprit; the absolute root cause of ALL seeking and suffering. Root that sucker out!

All of that which you wrote is thoughts of a self that has no real existence. Is what You Are a thought? You believe a thought, the “i” or “me” thought, to be who you are, and therefore lament how you have separated yourself. But is Awareness separate? Is Being separated from itself? Can you see that the very premise of the question is an assumption that you are the “I” thought? Have you really looked to see if that “I” thought really IS what you are? When you assume that the me is real and the I is separate, that assumption drives all this questioning. Who asks this question? Do you find any actual separate beingness IN your Beingness itself? It is just a mistake made that can be corrected with intelligent investigation!

Q: I keep coming back to this, even though and nothing and no one has any answer, either from "this" perspective or from "that" one. LOL.

C: That “LOL” is more pretense! If this is seen clearly you do not need to add “LOL” or “I get it” or anything else to the simplicity of Seeing, Being and Knowing that what you are is Presence, Awareness, and ONLY THAT. But so long as you refuse to look at the assumption that drive your seeking, it remains overlooked … yet still fully present here and now always. Regardless of what lies the mind tells you and that you believe and therefore suffer.

You say “I keep coming back...” WHO? What exactly is this “I” made of? Thought! It's a GHOST. Where IS any “self apart from other?” It's all thoughts while what You Are stands nowhere (now here) … ever free and absolutely in the clear, fully present and aware right now!

What is a “self”, a “me” or a “you” or an “I:”? Words. Irrelevant and immaterial to the Aware Presence shining isn plain sight! “I” is an empty word, and nothing more than a passing thought that you fixate on and turn into an identity that was never real. The answer is dead simple:

John Wheeler puts it like this; “Who is it who is trying to obtain what? That is only the searching of a phantom character for water in a mirage! You ARE. That cannot be denied. Instead of looking for anything, just stop and see the nature of what is already present. The mark of reality or truth is total simplicity. The mind and its creation of the “me” (the assumed separate self) can never know this. Why? Because “this” is prior to conceptualizing. So give up that game. The answer is not in the mind. Until this point is clear, one searches in vain. One waits before a picture of a door hoping that it will open someday. Your real being does not need to be grasped, achieved or known because it is already present and cannot be obtained. Before anything else appears, you must be there as the one to whom it appears. This prior being is what is being pointed to. The path to it is .... full stop. How far are you from being present and aware right now? No distance. This is the answer.”

That's as clear as it gets, using words to point to the Real.. See that Reality right now. The mind is a noise machine while YOU are always perfect, clear and ever present. That all there is to it.

New Review of "You Are Unborn"

Charlie Hayes’ latest piece of artwork is "You Are Unborn". The words come alive and present the most direct pointing to the Source. The undying peace of your True Being is the only non-thing that is pointed to in this book.

Charlie definitely has a style of putting into words that which cannot be put into words. Just start reading and literally lose your 'self' in the pages. If the search has had any meaning, it was to read “You Are Unborn”; this may very well be the end of seeking! It's $18.95 for a print or $9.95 for a download. I highly recommend geting this book, it's worth a million times its price! The book can be purchased by clicking here: http://www.lulu.com/charliehayes36.

Does The “I” Exist?

We say “I” quite a lot, don't we? I think, I feel, I know, I don't know, ad infinitum. But do we ever wonder, does this “I: we refer to as our self actually exist? Or is it merely a passing notion? But a “passing notion” ASSUMED to have some solidity, some objective nature, an object with properties? Suppose there IS no “I” apart from “other” … in Reality? Reality being defined as “That Which never Changes?”

And what IS That Which Never Changes? The ever-present Reality that cannot be altered, modified, or limited in any way?

Have you ever noticed that there IS an Unchanging Reality? An unavoidable Presence of Changeless awareness that is the necessary and always-on “background” of all that appears to come and go? This Presence is what is always Here, forever Now, and That is the permanent emptiness of your own actual Being. Just to notice what already IS, before the next thought or feeling arises, is to rediscover your True Nature of Being Itself.

Is-ness IS, isn't it? Existence IS, exist-ING, Be-ING, know-ING, isn't it? Can you escape form the Liv-ING Be-ING? How could we ever NOT BE? We IS. You IS. Being IS. ONLY in some speculation of a “future” when “I” will no longer be (we call that death, right?) or some speculation about a “past” when “I” was not being could such a consideration be postulated. But these postulations necessarily must be arising in language, NOW. Right?

Yet WE as our True-Nature are NOT “language”, NOT a concept, NOT a thing, NOT an object that mind or feeling, thought or emotion, can grasp, define or describe. NOT.

So let's come back to our question: Does the “I” exist? Where? When? What is this “I”-self made of? Is it a thing at all? If so please take it out and show it to me.

If the “I” is merely a concept, an assumption in language (where by language I mean something deeper than words, syntax or nouns and verbs), then what is the problem? If that assumption of a linguistic-entity is challenged, the existence of a separate I entity examined to find out “is it true” “Is it real”? Then it's existence is found to be ethereal, ephemeral, vapor. Smoke and mirrors. And in seeing that this “I” has no actual substance that can be defined and no power to do or not do anything, the freedom that We are comes to the forefront once and for all.

Understanding the nature of Reality and the nature of unreality brings a freedom beyond description, a permanence that we overlooked in focusing the mind-attention of a concept and assuming “I am I”. Dismantling the assumption is all that is needed.

Here and now you ARE. That, the One-I-Am of your own non-individuated Being, is the Eternal. And you ARE That. Refuse to accept any limits to your Infinite Being. You were never limited in any way shape or from; you only falsely believed the Lie of Separation. Reject all such lies now and BE as you always already ARE. Being-Aliveness-Peace. That is the Reality; all else is foolish speculation and irrelevant mind noise.

Refuse the noise that limits, accept the Silence that IS.

I Love You.
