Q: I'm trying to grasp what exactly you are opposing in [another "teacher's"] pointing - is
it that by telling people to 'look for the separate me' is misleading?
I'm just looking for cracks in my own search which may be keeping the
seeker in place. Let me know what you think if you have a moment and
don't mind. Thank You!
C: No problem! I am not "opposing" any other "teacher"; that is a misinterpretation of this
pointing ... rather I am suggesting that ANY "teaching" that assumes the
existence of a separate seeker-entity that could somehow "discover its
own absence" can, and does in many cases, only reinforce that
false sense of self rather than dismantle it. That said, anything is
possible and certainly some who have read other teacher's books will have a
clear seeing and a dropping out of the false sense of authorship, and
the expanding out of the ego-contraction, while others will get more
deeply contracted than ever! In short, there are thousands of
expressions and one never knows what the effects of any of them will be.
The final pointer here might well be "Thy will be done", in other
words everything is happening as a functioning of the Wholeness and is
NOT affected in any way, shape or form by OUR pseudo-will which is
utterly inauthentic, and a recognition that so long as there is the
assumed "me-entity" operating at the base, nothing that the phantom does
could possibly work to end the seeking! How can something that does NOT
exist discover that it doesn't exist! It is truly hopeless.
I try to point from my own experience rather than make assessments of "other teachers". If my pointers are taken as criticisms, that is unfortunate. Better to stop and see what is always here, never missing, empty and meaningless! Would you like to play the game? Ask yourself, "Do I exist?" How is it that "you" are "you"? ONLY in words, language, and language is the greatest bullshitter EVER. YOU are NOT a thought, a word, a feeling, or any other temporal thing; YOU are literally NO Thing! Timeless Being, awake, alive, as the pure deep sleep of what IS, always present in all relativity. You are the Unknowable Subject, the closest "description" or "representation" in words for which is "deep dreamless sleep". That stateless state is the "Always So", the Eternal What-You-Are-Ness. As Lao Tzu pointed out: "To know the Always-So is to be illumined". Period. End of story.
You might want to read "Being, Awake And Alive" as we go into this from a lot of different angles in that book. Go here to read reviews and preview it. Or book a consult. E-mail is rather limited and never seems to quite take the thing the whole way home.
(Please see This is not a "teaching" ... also.)
